VEGETARIAN DIET PLAN FOR AN ADULT PREGNANT WOMAN (MODERATE WORKER)

  1 CUP = 200ml     1 Tbsp = 15g    1 Tsp = 5g

PREGNANCY MYTHS

  • The mother can mark the sex of her child by eating special foods.
  • Mother’s consumption of certain foods will make the child to like such foods after birth.
  • Smaller babies are “easier to deliver “and the baby can “catch up “on their weight after birth.
  • Papaya, sesame, agathi, pineapple may lead to excessive heat production and abortion, hence should be avoided during pregnancy.
  • For a “fair” baby, the mother should drink milk with saffron.

Educating and motivating the pregnant mother to understand and follow the dietary essentials can improve her nutritional environment and her pregnancy outcome. The pregnant woman should be made to understand that specific nutrients and not specific foods are required for a successful pregnancy and these nutrients are found in a wide variety of foodstuffs and help them to get rid of their faulty beliefs and wrong food habits. A variety of familiar foods can usually supply the mother’s need for added nutrients.
