Ingredients for Thenkuzhal Murukku Recipe:
- Rice 1 measure
- Udad dal whole 1/2 measure
- Sesame Seeds – 1/2 tbsp
- Jeera – 1/2 tbsp
- Asafoetida – 1/4 tbsp
- salt to taste
Preparation Method for Thenkuzhal Murukku Recipe:
- Dry roast the dal very lightly and grind the rice together with the dal into fine flour in a flour mill.
- Sieve the flour. For every cup of the flour add 2 tbsps of butter, 1/2tsp each of sesame and jeera, and 1/4 tsp of asafoetida. Add salt to taste. Mix well.
- Sprinkle water and make it into a soft dough. Using a Thenguzhal mould press into murukku.
- Deep fry till golden brown and store in air-tight containers
