Thenkuzhal Murukku Recipe

Ingredients for Thenkuzhal Murukku Recipe:

  • Rice 1 measure
  • Udad dal whole 1/2 measure
  • Sesame Seeds – 1/2 tbsp
  • Jeera – 1/2 tbsp
  • Asafoetida – 1/4 tbsp
  • salt to taste

Preparation Method for Thenkuzhal Murukku Recipe:

  • Dry roast the dal very lightly and grind the rice together with the dal into fine flour in a flour mill.
  • Sieve the flour. For every cup of the flour add 2 tbsps of butter, 1/2tsp each of sesame and jeera, and 1/4 tsp of asafoetida. Add salt to taste. Mix well.
  • Sprinkle water and make it into a soft dough. Using a Thenguzhal mould press into murukku.
  • Deep fry till golden brown and store in air-tight containers
