Nellikai Sadam / Amla Rice Recipe
Ingredients for Nellikai Sadam:
- Raw rice cooked 1 c
- Grated amla 3
- Chopped green chilly 3
- Curry leaf and coriander chopped 1 tbsp
- Sesame oil 2 tbsp
- Mustard seeds 1 tsp
- Black gram dal and Bengal gram dal 1 tsp each
- Asafoetida 1 tsp
Preparation Method for Nellikai Sadam:
- Take a heavy-bottomed pan. Add oil and splutter mustard. Fry dals till golden brown and add asafoetida followed by chillies and curry leaf.
- Add grated amla and saute for about 5 minutes. Add cooked rice, required amount of salt, and mix well. Cook covered for 5 minutes.
- Remove and serve.
