Vegetable Dalia

VEGETABLE DALIA

SERVING – 1 (PORTION SIZE/SERVING = 1 STD CUP)

  • BROKEN WHEAT –  75GMS
  • CHOPPED VEGETABLES  –  ½ CUP
  • CHOPPED ONION   – 1 SMALL
  • CUMIN SEEDS  –  ¼ TSP
  • OIL   – 1  TBSP
  • SALT  – TO TASTE
  • CHOPPED CORIANDER  – 1 TSP
  • WATER   –  200ML
  • GREEN CHILLIES – 2

METHOD

  • Heat oil, fry cumin seeds, onion, chopped vegetables and green chillies till tender.
  • Add broken wheat and fry for sometime.
  • Add salt and water and cook on slow fire till done.
  • Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves.

VARIATIONS

  • SPROUTED MOONG DALIA

Substitute ½ a cup of sprouted green gram for vegetables.

  • VEGETABLE POHA

Substitute 100g of rice flakes for wheat rava. Add 1 Tbsp of grated coconut while frying the vegetables. Garnish with coarse powder of roasted peanuts.

  • VEGETABLE VERMICELLI

Substitute 100g of vermicelli for wheat rava.

  • JOWAR VEGETABLE UPMA

Substitute 100g of broken jowar for wheat rava.

  • BAJRA UPMA

Substitute 1oog of broken bajra for broken wheat.
