Rice Poori with Onion Karam

SERVING  2-3

  • RICE FLOUR – 1/2 -1 CUP AS REQUIRED
  • COOKED RICE – 1 CUP
  • SALT – 1/4 TSP
  • OIL – FOR FRYING

METHOD

  • Mash the cooked rice either with a masher or in the mixer jar without adding water.
  • Add salt and make into pliable dough using the rice flour. Add as much rice flour as required. The dough should be pliable and moist.
  • Rest for 30 minutes and roll into poories . Deep fry and serve with Onion Karam.

NOTE

  • These poories are gluten free .hence the dough will not have elasticity like that of wheat flour poories.
  • The cooked rice will help in binding and make rolling easy.
  • You can make them with plain rice flour without addition of cooked rice, using warm water to make the dough.
  • You can add cumin seeds/chilly powder/ green chilly paste/chopped coriander to the dough to make it flavorful.
