poha- spinach vadas

INGREDIENTS

  • POHA/RICE FLAKES – 1 CUP
  • BENGAL GRAM FLOUR /BESAN – 1 CUP
  • CHOPPED SPINACH – 1 CUP
  • KASTURI METHI – 1 TBSP
  • AJWAIN/CAROM SEEDS/OMAM – 1 TSP
  • TURMERIC – 1 TSP
  • CHILLY POWDER – 1 TSP
  • ASAFOETIDA – 1/4 TSP
  • SALT – TO TASTE
  • OIL – FOR FRYING

METHOD

  • Wash and soak the rice flakes in half a cup of water for 10 minutes.
  • Drain and squeeze the extra water if necessary.
  • Add all other ingredients and make into a soft dough.
  • Grease your palms and pat then into vadas/discs.
  • Deep frying in oil on medium flame till golden brown.
  • Serve with ketchup /mint chutney
