Banana Bread
  • Banana 8 No’s (Small Size)
  • Sugar 3/4 Cup
  • Maida 3/4 Cup
  • Whole Wheat Flour 3/4 Cup
  • Oil 1/2 Cup
  • Baking Powder 1 TSP
  • Baking Soda 1 TSP
  • Vanilla Essence 1 TSP
  • Walnuts 1/2 Cup Slivered
  • Cinnamon Powder 1 Pinch
  • Milk (If required)

METHOD

  • Peel the bananas and mash them
  • Add the oil, essence and sugar to the mash and blend well.
  • Take all the dry ingredients and sift them directly into the wet mixture.
  • Fold the dry ingredients and the walnuts  gently into the wet mixture.
  • Add some milk if required to geta dropping batter.
  • Grease a cake tin and dust with flour.
  • Pour the batter and bake at 180 degrees celsius for 40 minutes
  • Remove  on to a wire rack
  • Cool and cut after 24 hours for best results

NOTE

  • The bread can be made with 1.5 cups of whole wheat flour or maida .When made with only wheat flour the cake will be denser and some milk will be required to get the correct batter consistency.
  • When the bread is cut after 24 hours the crumbs set well and slicing is easier
  • The bread can be stored at room temperature for 2 days
