Pickled Onions Recipe | Sirkha Pyaz

Ingredients for Pickled Onions:

  • Small-sized onions /shallots /sambar onions -1 cup peeled with 4 slits on the top
  • Vinegar 2 cups
  • Ginger juliennes 1 tbsp
  • Green chilli medium 10 slit
  • Beetroot 1 small -cut into sticks
  • Salt to taste

Preparation Method:

  • Take a pan with ½ cup of water. Add the beetroot pieces and bring them to a boil. Simmer for a minute and switch off the flame. Cool.
  • Take a glass jar. Add all the ingredients mentioned above along with the cooled beetroot and the cooked water.
  • Mix well and allow to soak.
  • The pickle can be enjoyed after 2 days.
  • Refrigerate and use.
