The sweltering heat with the Mumbai temperatures touching 37 degrees Celsius fanned by the warm sea breeze did not deter our routine evening walk that usually ends up in a tongue-tickling chaat. My little prince who has started his tryst with street foods wanted a cold drink. Masala lemon soda was a unanimous choice by all of us and we stopped by for the same.
The soda man quickly took our orders and began the preparations. A sprinkle of masala into the glasses, a squeeze of fresh lemon all topped with cold soda water with extra fizz. Soon we were savouring a bubbly and absolutely amazing punchy flavoured soda drink, just right for a hot summers’ day. Every sip was filled with a myriad of flavors -black salt, cumin, amchoor, black pepper, mint, and a hint of asafoetida.
